As with so much of this research, we often find ourselves drawn into the very ‘rituals in the making’ that we seek to understand. Nothing about studying the terrible losses of COVID-19 has been neutral. I took part in this event (hosted by Marked By COVID and ReImagine) as a mourner, lighting a candle beside my laptop and taking in the moving words, images, and sounds of remembrance.
